When I was in HS my dad had this exact car that he had bought as a parts car for my Mom's XK140 not realizing that most of the parts don't interchange. As a freshman in HS i dreamed of fixing it up and using it as my HS car. Except my dad's car was not quite as "nice" as this one. These are FANTASTIC cars to drive and parts are still readily available. They were intended for the American market and a lot were sold here. This was is practically free at 15k. 😂

A.J. I'm like you and a sucker for original (or old paint). But the doors make me nervous with this one. Did someone do the seats at some point?

Interesting combination of patina and terrifying details. Look at the steering wheel. How does that happen?

They are an absolutely beautiful car and must have looked like they were from outer space in 1948.
We had a "Supply my own parts" customer with an XK120 undergoing reassembly.
He decided that some XK140 items would look better than the XK120 parts so he ordered those instead.
A lot of things, like the horn button just went back.
Some things, like his brand new stainless exhaust ended up costing double by the time the muffler shop was done cutting and welding all the bits so they would fit.

@ShawnG Although the 120/140/150 look similar I'm willing to bet a lot of the stuff just doesn't interchange. The 140 has 3" more legroom somehow, that is going to throw measurements off for the exhaust I would think. The 150 is wider by 2".

I like it! But I wonder if it can be made to run without spending 25k doing the engine? Also, the doors make me nervous too. I see it is for sale in California. Wonder if it has been there its whole life?

The drivers side floor needs a new mat.

@BillSmith Where is the laughing emoji?

I always thought these were Healey-sized when viewing photos but they definitely have great presence in person.

@prewarnut Side by side they are a little bit bigger. The engine is a LOT bigger.

Did you notice in the description where it calls out "needs new frame"?

@428CJ-1969 I was thinking "deal" then I saw that.
