Listened to @JohnBloom and Mrs. Mack and got the 40 Packard 110 woken up today. Great day for it , low 60s and no humidity.
What car related thing did you do this weekend?0

Beautiful!
I'm getting a client's collection ready for spring.

@ShawnG thanks Shawn!

Love the wheels Steve.

@alsancle Agreed.

Thanks AJ - car may be faster now since I removed the driving lights and some big a-- aftermarket grille guard thingy...

@SteveMackCT I need the laughiing upvote badly right now. 😂

Very nice. It looks happier now that it’s getting some attention. Don’t you just hate those CT classic car plates though? They’ve been sullied by all the rotted out heaps driving around with them.
I gave my car a couple more quick shakedown runs this weekend, making sure it’s good to go for the drive to Rhinebeck. Debating whether or not to clean it. If I leave it dirty, the weather will be beautiful next Sunday, but if I clean it, we’ll probably get a class V sharknado that day.

Steve, I feel very fortunate that I can live vicariously through friends regarding “car shenanigans “….The only thing I did car related this weekend was have discussions about storage opportunities for my cars and memorabilia as we list our home for sale in the very near future and everything about my hobby has to be moved to a new facility. Stressful, and I can’t seem to dedicate the time it deserves to manage the problem.
OO SNAG
??????

@JohnBloom When you start the process of finding your new car barn we definietly will live vicariously through you. My dad didn't get his 40x36 garage until he was 70 and I'm looking like I'm on the same schedule.

@JohnBloom
Big task sir but hipefully one and done on your big move!!
The plate was by chance, as @Hupp31 pointed out CT went to these cheesy classic plates a few years back. Oddly the 560 SL has an old school "Early American" plate - we tried to swap them recently and will at some point but in the interest of "improved service to customers" CT DMV requires appointments nowadays making it tough to run over in a rare free few minutes...

@SteveMackCT If you’re planning on going with YOM plates, hopefully DMV doesn’t hassle you as bad as they did my dad and I on our cars. They never did sign off on the plates I got for his car. They didn’t like the hyphen in the number. They pulled the same thing on the plates for mine too, but must someone in Wethersfield must have straightened them out because I got the signed application in the mail a few days later. All that’s nothing compared to what they put me through for a dealer’s license though.

@Hupp31 OMG what was once the easiest transaction ever has become nearly impossible. I have plates for both the Packard and the A.
I registered the Packard just before Labor Day and had my YOM plates but...they had a number and letter combination. Clerk in Torrington didn't like that. I politely told her that was pretty standard and all numbers were a bit unusual but I got the "if you want to ever drive that car in CT don't make me think before a long weekend stare" so off I went with cheesy plates..

@SteveMackCT Oh, so you got the same clerk. I had a pair of plates in the original mailing envelope from DMV in 1930 and they wouldn’t sign off on them. Really?
If you were at that branch you were right up the street from the shop. Shoulda stopped in.
What great colors! Thank you for posting this.

I finally identified the oil leak in my Model A. Stumped a couple experts along the way.

@NewOldWood where???

@SteveMackCT Someone installed the engine in the car without the gasket that goes between the engine block and flywheel cover. I don't think it stumped the experts because they didn't know it should be there, but because they never thought that it wouldn't be. A new gasket was in a box of parts that came with the car.
