Here is installment #3 on the 1931 Model A Deluxe Roadster we acquired last fall.

Apologies for the pictures of aged Poloroids but here is the cat when found around 1973. The kid stepping on the runningboard is my pal Rick, now 65. The tallest gent to the right is his dad. The following pictures are the car in restoration roughly 1975 - 1978.

They had a pro weld in a couple patch panels but did all mechanicals, body and paint at home. A local club member who did upholstery installed the LB interior.

The last pic is a favorite I-84 driving through Hartford, CT around 1979.

We know this car was always Washington Blue based on chalk marks from the factory inside the door.

Great photos! I love the shot of the body being wheeled around on the Radio Flyer. I imagine that ride on I-84 had a high pucker factor, even in the 70’s.

@Hupp31 The back half was supported by a skateboard.

I rode in the rumble seat on I-84 maybe around age 13 or 14, too young to be nervous!

@SteveMackCT That is a twin to the Dodge pickup used in both Overboard and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation sitting in the driveway with the roadster in that one shot.

@Hupp31 that truck is a while story onto it's own. The slant 6 stick. A year or two after HS Rick and another pal (who still has his HS car - 70 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed) drove it to Wisconsin or Nebraska to retrieve an old Packard sedan. they towed it home cross country with that truck!!

That one is gone but Rick's had around 12 of those Dodge sweptsides since.
