One of the smartest guys I know told me that a Hybrid is actually the worst of all worlds because it has triple the complexity of a standalone ICE or EV. It has the IC engine, Electric motor and then a control system between the two.
100% will be the hardest car to keep running down the road.
Also, a Tesla Plaid is over 1000 HP.

@alsancle That’s the way I’ve always looked at hybrids. But if that’s what it takes to keep the V12s around a bit longer, I’m all for it. I can’t argue with the capabilities of electrics but to me the sense of theater would be lost.

@alsancle Oh yeah, sure. The hardest drug of the antique car world. I can see it now. One ride in a steam car and the next thing you know, I’m pawning household items to finance a boiler rebuild.
