Cool.
This rare, rare, rare Red Cap Ale original glass neon sign has all of its original neon and has withstood years sitting in the weather and in a collapsed barn under a collapsed roof in Western Massachusetts. It’s a true survivor!! Hearty. Tough. New Englander.
Refurbished by the pros at Neon Williams in Somerville, Ma. This 70 year old lamp, produced by Countryman Incorporated in Covington, Ky, 1955, celebrates the Carling’s Brewery which once existed in Natick, Ma on the shores of Lake Cochituate, also in the 1950s and up into the mid 1960s
You will not find another Carling’s Red Cap Ale like this one in its original shape or in any shape at all.
The only repairs carefully made were to the cord and the transformer, to bring it safely for use, into the 21st century. Everything else, especially the 70 year old neon tubing, is original.
Patina and paint decay are 100% real and as is. Real time!
Will you be the one to be the steward and caretaker of this rare and local piece?
It is most certainly NOT like the others. It’s a Red Cap Ale neon !!
$1300 CASH.
