Petrolicious just dropped a new video on the Porsche 996 GT2 Twin Turbo, and it’s worth the watch. The widowmaker nickname didn’t come from nowhere. Big power, rear-wheel drive, and zero interest in flattering the driver. Credit to Petrolicious for another excellent film. #porsche

At the time of the car's launch it was the most powerful Porsche for the road ever built. It has no electronic helpers which gives it the nickname "the widowmaker".

@Royale835Sedan I could be wrong but I think the "widowmaker" label was attributed to all the 930 turbo cars because the handling was unpredictable. I need to google this. This particular model is basically a racecar in street trim.

I get allure, but I'm a fan of the earlier simpler version of the 911. Buddy had a 912 when I was in college and even that was fun to drive.
