Starting a 525 cubic inch Model 48 Locomobile.

Some pictures of the car. Recently purchased by a friend from a very very long term ownership.

Awesome!

I saw this over on the AACA forum. Really great story and a cool car. Those big Model 48s are underappreciated as they were one of the most expensive cars you could buy in the US in the early 20th century.

@BillSmith I saw it too. what a cool car. Massive engine!

Thanks for posting this. I just had to google Locomobile.

I'll try to post a better cold start video. I chased this car for 3 1/2 years before it all came together. AJ was in on the story from the beginning, and it must have provided some amusement to him.
The previous owner Dr Bill Long, spent quite a bit of money with an old school master mechanic sorting the engine and drivetrain. It starts and runs well.
For now I'm getting more familiar with it and planning/prioritizing without taking on a restoration.

@JohnBloom So cool! Who is the coachbuilder?

@JohnBloom Looks like a blast!
