A candidate for a replacement fuel tank for the 1953 Hudson Super wasp arrived yesterday. It is a reproduction of a tri five Chevy tank. It is similar size fuel filler and outlet are in the same basic location so we will see if it can be adapted. Fuel tanks for the Hudson have been reproduced and might be still available but last I looked they were over $1,100 so that seemed a little silly to me. Hope I can make this work without too much effort. Ill keep you all posted.

How much was the new tank? I take it the original one is unsalvageable? We have a radiator shop that will still boil them for you.

@alsancle The new Hudson tank was about $1,100. i didn't try to find a place to have it cleaned. It was pretty rusty inside although not leaking. This was an attempt at pushing the easy button.... Wish me luck.

Make sense if you can rework it. Boiling and patching the original could turn in to a nightmare if it was rusted badly.

@BillSmith I put a camera inside it looks pretty bad although it wasn't leaking.
