Heres another Jag from my collection. Its a 2005 Jaguar XKR. It has a super charged 32 valve dual overhead cam 4.2 V8 with 400 HP 410 LBS torque all stock. This is one of 584 XKR Coupes built in 2005. It was a highly optioned car having the rare BBS Seapang 20X10 3 piece wheels, momo leather wraped shift knob, recaro seats, 14in quad piston caliper Brembo brake system. The color is Night watch black. One of less then 5 painted this color. Factory navigation system, i bought this to use as a daily driver but decided after 5,000 miles it was too special for that. It had 96,000 in 2015. Its got 115,000 now. Its a great car for exploring the Washington and Oregon coast.

I came close to buying one of these new back in 2001. Ended with a 4.0 S instead because it made more sense as a daily driver. These were the Ford years, Correct?

@alsancle I remember those! I liked the look of all the Jags in that era. Was the build quality better with Ford manufacturing them?

@REORoyaleFan Mine was identical to ths one. Black with the optional wheels and a tiny navigation screen in the dash. Had pretty good luck with it from a quality perspective. Biggest issue was the first time it was out in the snow and I didn't realize what the "V" in the tires meant. Basically don't drive the car in the snow.

@alsancle it is when ford had a financial interest yes.

I always liked the XK body style. Wish they made it with a stick though.

@BillSmith I agree. I like these also but it is tough to have a "sports car" that doesn't come with a stick. Wonder why they never made one?

@BuickGuy68 I think the reason these were not offered with a manual option is at least in part that they were supposed to be in the grand tourer class not really a sports car.

@59redwing That and I don't think that had a manual transmission available in any of their models at that point?

Is it a rocket ship? Looks like one.

@69GoatMan Grok says you are correct: The 2005 Jaguar XKR features a 4.2-liter supercharged V8 engine producing 390-400 horsepower and 399 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0–60 mph time of 5.2 seconds and a 155 mph top speed. As the final year of the X100 generation, it balances luxury grand touring with strong performance, utilizing a 6-speed automatic transmission

@Miles1978 They were limited to 155 at the factory by the computer. Mine has had some remapping done and no speed limiter. I can tell you driving across I80 thru Wyoming its fast. It has the legs and the right tires to surpass 200. It needs a little more fuel and super charger pressure to get there though.

@69GoatMan 20 years ago my neighbor gave me a ride in his. Almost had an accident, so yes, I can attest to their performance.
