Here is another car my Dad and I towed home last summer. I'm kind of a Jag guy lol. That's how i accidentally ended up with the Rover. this is a 1948 Jaguar 1.5 Saloon sometimes called a MK IV the guy I bought it from bought it from California car club in 1999. You can still see the sales photos online. At some point I believe the car was on the east coast as the tires are Denman from Ohio. i have a video of its first drive but i need to figure out how to upload it. id sure like to learn more history on this car. If you know of any parts for these i am missing a lot. Yes the headlights are incorrect. It should have Lucas P80 these are Lucas 148 I have a set of P100 but those are for the 2.5 and 3.5 cars. There available for sale or trade by the way.

I love the MKIV. These saloons are very stylish and cool. Sort of like the Rover and Riley, all half hand built British quality!

@alsancle unfortunately no. The tool kit and felt inset is missing. Only remnant is a tommy bar that was laying in the bottom when I the car. I'd love to come up with one some today.

The interior in this one is sad right now but it's all there to make patterns. I am going to put it back to the brown it originally was. Right now it's a garish red.Replying to @Royale835Sedan

@59redwing Do you know if all 3 of engines are the same with just different bore and stroke? I think was a 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5? They all have the twin carbs and twin exhaust?

The 1.5 is a 4 cylinder made by Standard engines. The 2.5 and 3.5 are a 6. Not sure who made them for Jaguar but likely Standard. The 1.5 has a shorter bonnet. Replying to @BuickGuy68

The 4 cylinder has a single SU carburator. I think the 2.5 and 3.5 have dual.

@59redwing Ah, thanks! The 2.5 and 3.5 are identical 6s with different displacements then.

@Mthankiles1978 Thank you. Yes. I really love these old saloons. Nothing quite like driving one thru town on a dark rainy night. people look your way like they are seeing a ghost.

@BLK-10001 I am putting a motor and transmission in a 2018 infiniti QX 60 for one of my daughters this week. After that, brakes on my 53 Hudson. Then I have a box of parts to put on the 67 Saab. After which ill be working on the 48 Mk IV Jaguar. I will be reassembling the transmission, tune the motor, change all fluids including flush and hook up the gas tank. After that I will be driving it. Already reassembled the hood including making hood hinge mounts and reinstalled some chrome.
