If I ever really found a pot of gold and then learned how to fly a plane.  This is what I want.  Ultimate WWII Hot Rod Plane.    Only $4,000,000.   

Sierra Sue II is considered to be the most original and authentically restored P-51D Mustang currently flying today.  During its restoration, Air Corps was able to determine that only the engine mount, ailerons, and flaps were not original to the airframe as it left the North American Aviation factory in Inglewood, CA in 1944.

When I was a kid I swear there was an advertisement in Hemmings Motor News for brand new P51 Mustangs still in the crate for 25k.  Would have been in the 1970s.

@alsancle   I think I remember that too.   It was either Mustangs or jeeps.

My brother has his pilots license and bought a plane.   Worse than a boat or a car.  Much worse.
