1928 Chandler Special Six Sportster

Description
This 1928 Chandler Special Six is one of two examples built with dual-cowl five-passenger Sportster bodywork and is said to have been owned by Chandler Motor Car Company founder Frederick C. Chandler, whose family trust it remained in for 86 years, a span that included a 1963 refurbishment and several years in storage. The car was purchased in 2014 by a Minnesota dealer and subsequently sold in 2015 to its next owner, who had it recommissioned. It was purchased five years ago by its current owner, an AACA chapter president. Finished in orange, beige, and black, the car is powered by a 196.6ci L-head inline-six that breathes through an updraft carburetor and is mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Additional features include a central-cowl tonneau carrying a windshield, mechanically actuated four-wheel drum brakes with vacuum assistance, 20” powder-coated wire wheels, a beige convertible top, Trippe driving lights, and brown interior upholstery. This Chandler Special Six is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner with factory literature and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
