I'' add a few comments to this.
1. Vapor lock is caused by fuel boiling in the fuel lines. Directly related to modern gas issues.
2. Non-ethenol gas, racing gas or AV gas will help alliviate the problem.
3. Routing the fuel line away from heat sources will help.
4. Routing a large diameter fuel line will also help.
5. An electric pump can be used inline to overcome the issue when it happens.
6. Slightly unrelated, but I have found that prewar non-pressurizes cooling systems run cooler with a water/cutting oil mix with an ant-corrison additive in place of anti-freeze.
