A J, I am glad you asked!
The correct engine color (block and head) is GLOSS BLACK, as is the firewall. All accessories that are not chrome are also painted gloss black.
This may not be an all inclusive list, but I think the following items are to be chromed:
spark plug wire lomb; oil filler cap; wind deflector attached to manifold near fan; acorn nuts on block/head studs, radiator fan blades (although I would not chrome these as several people that have found that it makes them brittle and they have a tendency to become lodged in the radiator!) acorn nuts that attach fan to water pump.
The covers for the valve adjustment area are not chromed but are stainless or ????? but are not painted!
What is the correct color for the script on the water jacket cover?
A.J. I called Joe A today and asked him what his 10,000 mile original sedan had on the water jacket . He says his water jacket had a little bit of surface rust on it when he bought it . Joe could not see any paint .To protect the water jacket he sent it out and had it chromed . He would paint it red to make it look rich . Maybe Jim Carlson or Dave Snow would know as they both have an original Royale .
