Correct Color for Radiator Emblem

Does anyone know what the relief color should be on the emblem mounted on the radiator. I have looked at many pictures and I can't figure it out. I assume some color, red or black must be in there or you can't read the Royale lettering.

I had no idea that it would have been painted. I don't recall seeing any painted, not on restored cars or on original ones. It is difficult to see on original pics, but I would guess, looking at the attached pic, that they were fully chromed.By the way, the pic would seem to proove that the wheel locking rings were painted black, as we had mentioned on some past occassion.

My emblem is just engraved with no coloured paint added . I asked Joe A and he says there is no coloured paint on his Royales . John would probably know more as he has 3 different styles to look at .
