My visit to the National Corvette Museum — a must for every enthusiast
Just got back from my first trip to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY and I'm still buzzing. If you haven't been, put it on your bucket list immediately. The museum has over 80 Corvettes on display spanning every generation from the very first 1953 Polo White roadster to the latest C8 Z06. The highlight for me was seeing the sinkhole exhibit — they preserved several of the cars that fell into the massive sinkhole that opened up beneath the museum in 2014, and the story of the recovery effort is fascinating. I also did the assembly plant tour next door where you can watch C8s being built on the production line. Watching the engine drop into the chassis and the marriage of body to frame is incredible. Pro tip: book the Motorsports Park experience too. For about $300 you can do hot laps in a new Corvette on their road course. Best money I've ever spent. Has anyone else visited recently?
