packard with a tach?

I have seen pictures of a late 30's Packard with a tach on th efront of the glove box. I would suggest you contact one of th ePackard clubs.<BR>George

My father's 1940 180 Darrin which he bought in 1954 or so has a tach in the glove box. Also I've seen a packard glove box tach in museum display somewhere that I can' recall.<P>Al

As I recall there was a glove box option in the 1938 maybe earlier years. I a rare item

Tach was a '39 model option for all models but the

Twelve, then in it's final season. '39s were the

first Packards to come w/ optional overdrive (exc. the

Twelve) and the tach served to dramatically show the

benefits of overdrive. It ran off the generator as in

T-series MGs and early Corvettes. I put a '39 Packard

accessory tach in my '40 120.

Contact Don Figone, Santa Rosa, CA for more info. He's listed in the CCCA and PAC directories. I got my tach from him in the late '70s; the only one he had.

You really should join the Packard Club and have knowledgeable

folk inspect your cars.
