1948 Buick super harmonic balancer removal and rebuild?

Lance, the pulley is attached to the dampener with brads. Not made to be removed. The entire thing will come off the crankshaft. I doubt it can be removed with the radiator in place. The seal replacement will require removing the timing chain cover. The seal installs from inside. If you do this use a newer style lip seal.

I did not know that. So basically you need to find a good used one? What options do you have if you have to replace one.

Why would the pulley do this? I just noticed mine is doing the same thing.

Check the layered like puck is the best description I can give you to make sure it’s not deteriorating and the layers are tight and not deformed. If that’s good to go, check the rivets on the back. One of mine was offset for whatever reason and I ended up buying a new one or should I say used one. That took care of the problem.
