Where to buy replacement muffler

I need a muffler for a large mid twenties car. It is one of those with cast iron ends and rods that go from front to back holding the sections together (stove pipe? ). I have the ends, just need the sections. Anyone reproducing? Must have been used on many cars. Any suggestions, advice appreciated. Johnny 925-963-5835

A sheet metal shop is where I would start. They can measure, perforate the inner tubes and form the outer shell. It shouldn't cost more than finding a stock one. Do you know the length you will need?

Restoration Supply in Escondido had these in their catalog a few years ago, but not in stock. Maybe different now. Buyer had to drill all the holes as I recall.

Johnny, check with Scott Henningsen, who has been reproducing take-apart mufflers for 1910s Pierces. Even if not identical, his sources for materials may be worthwhile to you.

You could try a truck muffler catalog. It's possible to find a muffler that has the same or similar dimensions.

You might try a model T Ford supply house for reproduction ends and build the length you want.

I have a NAPA muffler catalog that list their mufflers by dimension. You could probably find this on line.
