George Hansen opened a Chevrolet dealership on Olympic Blvd. (west of Sawtelle Blvd) in West L.A. circa 1957 (dealership was there until approx. 1990. Now a couple hi rises are there). If I recall, Hansen originally had another GM dealership located in the area. So the dealership you are thinking of may have been a Hansen dealership.
FWIW, when moves out of West L.A. they relocated to Burbank and opened another dealership three years later in Ventura County. Both dealerships are still around but the Hansen family sold them off around 1994.
BTW...Mike Salta became a successful real estate developer. Did well but also had construction defect lawsuits against many of his projects (built mostly condominum projects). I believe his development company went BK last year.
