CCCA Headquarters Floods

Hurricane Ike's path of destruction reached as far as Illinois Monday, September 15 with the CCCA Des Plaines office sustaining significant damage. The Des Plaines River flooded resulting in three feet of water settling in the office for a 48-hour period. All office furniture was destroyed along with any material stored on the lower shelves or bottom drawers of the filing cabinets. Our office staff and Club members in the area are performing heroic tasks attempting to salvage as much as they can.A temporary office is being set up and membership renewals are being processed along with most day-to-day activities. Mail is being picked up at the post office and Executive Administrator Katie Robbins is fielding phone calls. Her number is (313) 563-0621.
