1950 era 'Cardinal'

My father is in his 80's and has a picture of his uncle (now deceased) standing next to a very nice and fairly large car. The photo appears to late 40's early 50's and the only identifying mark is on the passenger side front fender, in crome, the word 'Cardinal'. My dad asked if I could find any information about the car and it's manufacture, but so far after spending several hours searching the internet, I have drawn a blank. I would love to help my dad find out a little about this car, so if anyone can provide and information or clues, it would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,scroft@gte.net
