Where to find a new Carter WCD Carburetor?

If you have a carb that is rebuildable to any extent I would suggest contacting Daytona Parts . They do excellent work. Every tiny piece is redone and they come back working great and looking better than new. They have done the carbs for my 1966 (Carter AFB), 1953 (Stromberg) and 1938 (Stromberg) Buicks. They are more than willing to give tech advice also. Not cheap by any means either. But then... as in anything else you get what you pay for.Good luck.

Thank you! I will contact them and see. I rebuilt the carb once but if it could be remachined as well that might be the best bet.

I understand your wanting a NEW carb. And everyone likely has his own "best" carb specialist [color:\\"black\\"] . So should you decide to rebuild a used Carter, my 'umble suggestion is to try Jeff Dreibus, "The Old Carb Doctor," near Asheville,NC in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. 1 (800) 945-CARB. Jeff can rebush, straighten warped castings, has prompt turnaround, and does the carb work for White Post Restorations. He did a good job on my '47 Packard Super Clipper's Carter 531S. But if you can find a genuine mint new carb, more power to you, tho' you'd still be wise to overhaul it with fresh gaskets. [color:\\"black\\"]

I will second the recommendation of Jeff "The Old Carb Doctor". He just did a beautiful job on a stromberg EE-16 for me and was also very helpful with fuel system advise. Nice person to deal with.

I have added him to my list of resources. Daytona Parts were extremely professional and helpful so I would recommend them to anyone at this point. My local chapter of the CLC also weighed in with pro-offered help which is great too. I feel like a rich man! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I think I have an NOS carb for your Cad - a Stromberg AAV 26. It is very similar to one for a Packard and I bought it by mistake. I'm in Sweden now, but I can check it out and give you more details in about 2 weeks. Dave at packard12s@hotmail.com
