Shawn: When i put radial tires on my Chevelle last year it was for the better. To show you how much I like the radial tires over bias ply tires. The 53 Packard i am restoring had four brand new Coker bias ply tires on the car. I gave them to friend to put on his car. When the Packard is done I will put a new set of radial tires on. I might add they will not be after market tires. The radials improves the cars handling. When purchasing tires be carefull what you buy, truck tires for light trucks maybe made of a harder compound than regular car tires. Thus resuling in a harsher ride. I will stay away from the rim question except that if youhave to use tires tubes be sure they are made for radial tire application. I claim to be no expert just my personal thought.

I "second" '53's comments, with the additional comment that my own '51 thru '53 Packards had standard "drop center" wheels with one piece flange and rim. <P>To my knowledge, it would not have been possible to order a "separate flange and rim" and/or "split rim" type wheel for ANY American car in 1951. <P>So...again...three cheers for Chris's being interested enough to do some research and come up with that RINTEX article. And three "boos" for RINTEX for such utter bovine droppings.......very unfair of them to do that to well-meaning car buffs..lie Chris!<P>Pete Hartmann
