1917 Maibaugm

Chuck,<P>I think your friend may have a "Maibohm." They were built from 1916 to 1922 when the company changed hands. In 1923 they brought out the short lived "Courier". Maibohms were built in Racine, Wisconsin and from 1919 in Sandusky, Ohio. It is possible that the historical societies of those cities might have some useful information. Chucky,<BR> I found some information on the car in question. It's spelled Maibohm and was made from 1916-1922 in Racine, WI and later in Sandusky, OH. In 1922 the name was changed to Courier. It was an assembled car, meaning that the company bought all of the components to build the car from various vendors. For example, the bodies for these cars were supplied by Millspaugh & Irish. There six cylinder engines were supplied by Falls. Frames, transmissions, differentials, etc. were all supplied by different manufacturers and assembled to make a complete car. Many car companies tried to make cars this way. Most of the parts were off the shelf and not specifically designed for that make of car.
